Havana is a strange juxtaposition of luminous palaces and run down, half repaired buildings. It is like stepping into a time warp seeing all the 1950’s American cars and very little technology or mobile phones! We only had a few days to explore the city at the beginning and end of our trip. Most of which was spent wandering around the cobbled streets of Habana Vieja (Old Havana) and getting lost, which is my favourite way to explore a city!
One of the best things about Cuba is the rum, so we decided to have a tour of the Havana Club Rum Museum which gave us an explanation of how rum is made and let us taste various
types.
On our last night we went to one of the most amazing restaurants La Guarida (definitely tourist prices, not local prices but so so worth it!) and went to Floridita, which was a local favourite of Hemmingway’s!It was an incredible way to finish a great trip!
