New York, New York!

I spent 9 wonderful days eating, drinking, catching up with friends and of course shopping in New York. I really thought 9 days would be enough time to get through my incredibly long to do list but it wasn’t. I think New York is the city where you can spend months in and not do everything. It is also a great city to do nothing except sit in one of the amazing cafĂ©, restaurants or bars and people watch, which is probably where all my time went…

Here is a brief list of things I loved:
• Highline
• Picnic in Central Park
• As many museums as you can fit in (we only had time for MoMA and the Guggenheim)
• Yankees game
• Brooklyn Flea Markets
• Top of the Rock – potentially one of the best views in New York
• Wandering around everywhere – it really is the best way to get to know a city!

Cape Cod!

To recover after Vegas and Coachella, we found ourselves staying at the most adorable inn (Beach Breeze Inn, Falmouth, MA) in Cape Cod. We spent our days relaxing, eating delicious foods (especially salt water taffy!), searching for Kennedys and riding around. It was exactly the break we needed before we went to New York!!!

Grand Canyon!

I have decided that I want to become a helicopter pilot.
There is something so peaceful soaring through the air, and there is not too many sights that are as incredible as flying over, through and landing in the Grand Canyon!
Whilst in Vegas, Gena and I decided to do a helicopter tour with Maverick Helicopters (highly recommended!!). We through over the Las Vegas strip to begin, flying past the Hoover Dam to land in the Grand Canyon above the Colorado River! Our pilot then served us snacks and champagne as we were allowed to explore the Grand Canyon. On the flight home we observed the sunset from the sky which covered the rivers and landscape below in amazing pastel colours and seeing the amazing Vegas skyline light up. For me this is a must do if you ever get the chance to visit Vegas!!

Coachella!

Coachella is a pretty magical place. I was awestruck when I first walked in and saw the Coachella Ferris Wheel. We arrived in the late afternoon day one as the sun was setting after being at the KROQ pool party (getting to see bands up close and personal including Tegan and Sara and Franz Ferdinard). It was amazing to see the colours of the sky as the sun set over the Empire Polo Club, and the lights of Coachella brighten up the darkening sky. Each day had a line up of musicians (Tegan and Sara, Band of Horses, Blur, Phoenix, Major Lazer, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to name a few) that did not disappoint.
